I remember coming across my grandfather’s formal military dress..and begged to see him in it .He told me go put on my fav dress and meet him in the kitchen in 20 minutes.
When I came back :
He lined all my favorite dolls & stuffed animals on the kitchen table and my grandmother turned on her old record player . I don’t remember the song but I remember this moment . And how after he twirled me for one full song , he sat me on top of the kitchen counter and he danced with my grandmother till the record ended and I was fighting sleep.
They had 9 children , money wasn’t the end all be all … it was this … each other .
